Are you ready for BlackBoxTV’s Urban Legends Triple Feature coming Oct 30th?!?!
TonyV of BBTV ask me if I would write and direct a horror short for his Halloween special. Each of the three videos will feature an Urban Legend submitted by You!
It felt great to jump out of comedy and do a more serious piece. I plan to do more in the future!
So make sure to tune in to JoeNationTV on Oct 30th for the BBTV Halloween Special!
I tend to picking up little bits of info and techniques along the way while shooting with HDSRL, but considering these post below were made back in 2009 goes to show I have been spending too much time flexing in the mirror.
This posts informs you about the ISO values you should be shooting at on the Canon 7D. I always thought the lower the ISO value (which is the speed of the film) the darker the film therefore you would use 100ISO outdoors, and the higher the ISO value the faster the film, ie. 800ISO use when shooting indoors or in low-light. This holds true but depending on your camera/format, there are slight adjustments you can make to get better image quality.
The forum links below give you an idea of the amount of noise that is produced at each ISO level. Take a look at them and see the comparison yourself. Both tests show that ISO values of 160, 320, 640,800, 1250 give you the less noise.
There are multiple arguments as to the reasoning behind this but it is worth taking a look at and testing out for yourselves. Below is a comparison of 100ISO and 160ISO. Neat!

I decided to write this post because I feel that any human following their dreams need to be able to express / share their own experience as a means of passing on knowledge and hopefully some form a wisdom. That was a long sentence.
Recently, I have been diving head first into the world of cinema. In a recent interview I did with PartnersProject on YouTube, I quote myself as not being a film-buff and kind of stumbled upon the question of inspiration. It took me a long time to understand (I am still figuring it out!) why I am the way that I am; I write/direct/edit/act in all my videos yet can’t talk cinema. I have been sprinting down this path of self-seclusion only to realize that I have hit a brick wall. But the great part about this brick wall is that it can be broken down, even destroyed.
What I am trying to say is that I am guilty of ignoring my full potential as a filmmaker. I have been hiding behind this brick wall because I am afraid of what I will discover on the other side. It sounds cheesy and cliche but its beyond true. All artists are afraid of failure, we all are afraid of success, some of us just hide it better than others!
Recently, I have been studying up on as much film as possible. I try to watch a film a day and listen to endless hours of interviews with directors and writers searching for knowledge, wisdom, and most importantly, inspiration. From James Cameron to Alfred Hitchcock, if you want to succeed you have to live film, breath it, own it.
I wanted to start sharing more of my experience as a filmmaker living in LA because you only see the sculpted side of my work when a piece is finished. You don’t see the struggle or the process, all you see is the finished product. Awareness is very important in the processes of following your dreams, so I will use this as a tool to break down my walls. I feel fortunate that I have hit a brick wall (and trust me there will be many) and I am in the process of nuking it to the best of my ability. Following your dreams isn’t easy. There are so many people fighting the battle. You have to be a warrior, you have to be determined. You have to be willing to risk it all, take that monstrous leap of faith because at the end of the day, no one is going to do it for you unless you do it yourself.

FILM TIPS #3!
I talk about different ways you can achieve Image Stabilization for when shooting Handheld. Never shoot with your bare-hands when shooting with HDSLRs. Your hands have a very subtle shake and you will see it in your footage.
More tips to come!

I now have some of my work on VIMEO.COM
Vimeo is a video-sharing website on which users can upload, share, and view videos just like YouTube but the site is exclusively dedication to user-made video and does not allow commercial videos, gaming videos, or anything not created by the user, to be hosted on the site.
There are some really talented creators on Vimeo whose work far exceeds much of the content on YouTube. I hope this to be a way to share my work with those creators and to help me push myself to create better content.
Make sure to stop by my Vimeo channel and leave some love!
